Janet Trautwein
NAHU Executive Vice President & CEO

Janet Trautwein is the chief executive officer of NAHU and president of the NAHU Education Foundation in Washington DC. NAHU represents employee benefits professionals involved in the design, implementation and management of health plans all over the United States. Her responsibilities include oversight of all NAHU and NAHU Education Foundation activities, including oversight of 30 staff members in Washington DC and 210 state and local chapters. She is the primary spokesperson for NAHU to the media, government agencies and elected officials at all levels.

A frequent speaker on health-policy issues, Janet’s expertise in issues related to health insurance markets, the uninsured, risk and reinsurance pooling, benefits-related tax and tax-preferred account issues, and both national and global health reform has been recognized throughout the industry. Janet has testified before Congress numerous times, has been published in major news outlets, and has appeared on hundreds of radio and television programs around the world.

Janet holds a degree in government and international affairs from George Mason University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and a master’s degree in health economics, health policy and health management from the London School of Economics.

Jessica Waltman
VP of Compliance, MZQ Consulting, LLC

Jessica Waltman leads the compliance consulting and services team at MZQ Consulting, providing subject matter expertise and spearheading a variety of business initiatives. She has more than twenty years of experience in health insurance markets and is considered an industry-wide expert on all of the complex laws and regulations essential to maintaining a compliant employee benefits arrangement. In 2015, Jessica launched Forward Health Consulting where she’s advised dozens of brokers, employers, associations and benefit technology firms about health reform and business strategy issues. Prior to that, Jessica served the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) for sixteen years, including eight years as their Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. Jessica earned her degree in political science and non-fiction writing magna cum laude from Drew University. She serves her industry as a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Insurance Producers Registry.

Amanda Brewton
Principal, Medicare Answers Now

Amanda has been working in the Medicare field for over 15 years, working for both Aetna and Anthem. She has worked with thousands of agents across the country helping them build solid business plans and increase their knowledge in the Medicare space. She has taught numerous courses across the country on such topics as: Business Development, Sales, Marketing, and many Continuing Education courses.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Medicare Answers Now is a Managing General agency with agents across the country. Our primary focus is working insurance agents that work with Seniors and with Medicare Products. We work to develop a strategy that works with the agent's strengths and builds on their weakness to help them achieve their personal goals.

We are partnered with TLC Insurance Group and Jack Schroeder & Associates. Using the tools and training they have to offer plus what I bring to the table is one of the many benefits to working with us.

Harsha Puvvada, CFA
Co-Founder, MedPut

Harsha is a Co-Founder at MedPut - a company that provides interest-free financing and discounts on healthcare bills for employees. After spending more than a decade across 3 continents working in both finance and healthcare, Harsha has a unique global perspective on the complexities of both industries. Prior to MedPut, he worked at an investment bank, ran operations and strategy at a hospital, and co-founded a healthcare technology that sent text message vaccination reminders to parents. Harsha holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, an M.B.A. from INSEAD, and is a CFA charter holder.
